Terms of Use

The plain-English rules for shopping with us, using our website, and reading our care library. Written so you can actually read them.

The agreement

Welcome to Aloe World. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of aloeworld.ng, our mobile experience, our newsletters and any in-store services we provide ("the Service"). By browsing the Service or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

Aloe World is operated by Aloe World Limited, a company registered in Lagos, Nigeria. Throughout these Terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Aloe World Limited; "you" refers to the person using the Service.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date below tells you when. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.

Who can use Aloe World

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to place an order. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep your password confidential.

You are responsible for everything that happens through your account. If you suspect unauthorised use, write to us immediately at info@aloewrld.com.

Orders, prices & payment

Order acceptance. An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send you a dispatch confirmation; until then, we may decline it for any reason, including stock issues, pricing errors or suspected fraud.

Prices. All prices are in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise. Delivery is calculated at checkout based on your zone.

Payment. We accept cards, bank transfer and Paystack-supported methods. You authorise us and our payment processors to charge your chosen method for the total order.

Pricing errors. If a price is obviously wrong, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund you in full, even after a confirmation email.

Delivery & living plants

Plants are living organisms. We pack them carefully, but minor cosmetic changes like bent leaves, soil shift, or a bruised tip can occur in transit and do not count as damage. Our 30-day growth guarantee covers anything more serious.

You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and being available, or arranging someone to be, at delivery time. Re-delivery fees may apply if a plant is returned to us undelivered.

Returns & refunds

Plants are not returnable for change-of-mind reasons. Once in your home, their care is in your hands. They are still covered by our growth guarantee for 30 days from delivery.

Unopened care kits, tools and pots can be returned within 14 days for a refund minus return shipping. Items returned in used or damaged condition may be refunded only in part, or not at all, at our discretion.

Your content

You may submit reviews, photos, comments, and other content ("User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, display, reproduce and adapt it in connection with operating and promoting the Service.

You agree not to post anything that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, obscene, harassing, or that contains personal data of other people. We may remove User Content at our discretion and without notice.

Intellectual property

The Aloe World name, logo, photography, illustrations, written content, and the look and feel of the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

You may view, print and download portions of the Service for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, scrape, republish, resell, or use any part of the Service to train automated systems without our prior written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, our systems or our customers accounts.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by sending automated traffic, scrapers, or denial-of-service attacks.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any part of the Service.
  • Resell or commercially redistribute our content, plants, or care guides without permission.

Disclaimers & liability

The Service and the plant-care information on it are provided "as is". We make no guarantee that any plant will thrive in your specific home environment, or that our care guides will work for every cultivar. Care information is general guidance, not professional horticultural advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Suspension & termination

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, attempt fraud, or use the Service in a way that risks harm to other customers, our team or our plants. You may close your account at any time by writing to info@aloewrld.com.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, unless we mutually agree to mediation first.

If any clause of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining clauses stay in full effect.
